Description
Crispy, golden-brown onion rings made healthier in the air fryer — crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect as a snack or side without deep frying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large yellow onions, sliced into 1/2-inch rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Set up three bowls: one with flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder), one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
- Dip onion rings in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.
- Place coated rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use sweet onions for a milder flavor.
- For extra crunch, double-dip in egg and breadcrumbs.
- Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
