Description

Crispy, golden-brown onion rings made healthier in the air fryer — crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect as a snack or side without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large yellow onions, sliced into 1/2-inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder), one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
  3. Dip onion rings in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.
  4. Place coated rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  5. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use sweet onions for a milder flavor.
  • For extra crunch, double-dip in egg and breadcrumbs.
  • Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
