Description
This Avocado Jalapeño Dip is ultra-creamy, zesty, and has the perfect spicy kick. Blending ripe avocados with fresh jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, and herbs makes it a bold, flavorful dip that pairs perfectly with chips, veggies, or tacos.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1–2 jalapeños, stemmed and seeded (leave seeds for extra heat)
- 1 garlic clove
- ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- Salt, to taste
- Water, as needed to thin (optional)
Instructions
- Add avocados, jalapeños, garlic, sour cream (or yogurt), lime juice, cilantro, and salt to a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed.
- If the dip is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust salt or lime juice if needed.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, omit sour cream or use a plant-based alternative.
- Add an extra jalapeño for more heat, or use just half for a milder version.
- Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled meats, or as a spread on sandwiches.
