Description
Tender baked chicken thighs marinated in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce made from soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. A flavorful and easy meal perfect for any night of the week.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Place the chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer the chicken and marinade to a baking dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Optional: To thicken the sauce, pour it into a saucepan, bring to a simmer, and stir in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water) until thickened.
- Serve chicken with sauce drizzled on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
- Use chicken breasts instead of thighs if preferred, but adjust cooking time accordingly.
- Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
- Double the marinade for extra sauce to serve on the side.
