Description
Juicy grilled chicken skewers brushed with a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce, finished with green onions and sesame seeds for the perfect balance of smoky, savory, and bold flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 8 to 10 wooden skewers, soaked
Instructions
- Preheat grill or grill pan to medium high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and honey until smooth to create the bang bang sauce.
- In a separate bowl, toss chicken pieces with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
- Thread seasoned chicken onto soaked wooden skewers, leaving slight space between each piece.
- Place skewers on the grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- During the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking, brush the skewers generously with the bang bang sauce.
- Remove from heat, brush with additional sauce if desired, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level.
- Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking and drying out the chicken.
- Extra sauce can be served on the side for dipping.
