Description

Juicy grilled chicken skewers brushed with a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce, finished with green onions and sesame seeds for the perfect balance of smoky, savory, and bold flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 8 to 10 wooden skewers, soaked

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and honey until smooth to create the bang bang sauce.
  3. In a separate bowl, toss chicken pieces with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  4. Thread seasoned chicken onto soaked wooden skewers, leaving slight space between each piece.
  5. Place skewers on the grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. During the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking, brush the skewers generously with the bang bang sauce.
  7. Remove from heat, brush with additional sauce if desired, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level.
  • Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking and drying out the chicken.
  • Extra sauce can be served on the side for dipping.
