Ingredients
Scale
- 250 grams ground beef
- 250 grams ground lamb
- 2 puff pastry sheets
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined.
- Lay the puff pastry sheets flat on a clean work surface.
- Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a long log across the center of each pastry sheet.
- Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges to form a long roll.
- Cut each roll into evenly sized pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry roll.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
- Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Keep puff pastry cold while working to maintain a flaky texture.
- You can chill the assembled rolls for 10 minutes before baking for even better pastry layers.
- Serve with tomato sauce, yogurt dip, or mustard for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days and reheated in the oven.
