- 1 loaf brioche bread, cubed
- 8 oz cream cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Add cubed brioche to the baking dish, scatter with cream cheese cubes and half the berries.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and press lightly to soak.
- Top with remaining berries and let sit for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden and set. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
- Let cool 10 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
Notes
- Use slightly stale bread for the best texture.
- Frozen berries can be used directly from the freezer.
- Let the casserole rest after baking for easier slicing.
