This Best Chocolate Delight is an easy layered dessert with a crunchy pecan crust, creamy layers of sweetened cream cheese, chocolate pudding, and whipped topping. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, or when you’re craving something cool, creamy, and chocolaty!

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), divided
- 2 (3.9 oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- Shaved chocolate or chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, melted butter, and chopped pecans until combined. Press the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 15–20 minutes or until lightly golden. Let it cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes).
- Spread the chocolate pudding over the cream cheese layer.
- Top with the remaining whipped topping and spread it evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
- Garnish with shaved chocolate or chocolate chips before serving, if desired.
Notes
- Make sure each layer is well chilled before adding the next for the cleanest layers.
- You can use homemade whipped cream instead of store-bought whipped topping for a richer flavor.
