Description

Melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies with crisp edges, rich buttery flavor, and a crumbly texture that’s simply irresistible.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together cold butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  5. Cut into shapes using a knife or cookie cutter and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the edges just begin to turn golden.
  7. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
