Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16-ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until gravy thickens. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat.
- Evenly layer biscuit dough pieces in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Pour sausage gravy over the biscuits.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs, then pour them evenly over the casserole.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use seasoned sausage for added flavor.
- Letting the casserole rest before serving helps it set and slice cleanly.
- Customize by adding veggies or switching up the cheese.
