Description

Flaky, golden pastry filled with warm Nutella, sweet bananas, and juicy blueberries for the perfect quick dessert or brunch treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the bananas, prep the blueberries, and whisk the egg yolk with milk to create the egg wash.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets, and cut each into 4 equal squares.
  4. Spread a teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each square, add 2 banana slices and a few blueberries, then fold and seal the pastry with a fork.
  5. Place the filled puffs on the baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
  6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the pastries to avoid leakage.
  • Make sure the fruit is dry to prevent soggy pastry.
  • An extra pinch of cinnamon can enhance the flavor.
