Description

Fluffy, savory cheddar breakfast biscuits made with protein powder and Greek yogurt for a nourishing, satisfying start to your day. Golden on the outside, tender and cheesy inside, perfect for meal prep or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 scoop (30 grams) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, protein powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, milk, and egg until smooth.
  6. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape into biscuits. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the butter cold for the best texture.
  • Do not overmix the dough to avoid dense biscuits.
  • Use freshly shredded cheddar for better melting and flavor.
  • Biscuits can be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for longer storage.
