Description
A simple and flavorful seafood dish featuring tender cod fillets cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce with fresh parsley and bright lemon. Light, flaky, and incredibly satisfying, this dish comes together quickly and highlights the natural flavor of the fish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cod fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic and chopped parsley.
- Add the butter to the skillet and allow it to melt gently until lightly bubbling.
- Season the cod fillets on both sides with salt and black pepper, then place them carefully into the melted butter.
- Cook the fish for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until the edges turn lightly golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- During the final minute of cooking, spoon the garlic butter over the fish and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets.
- Transfer to serving plates, drizzle the remaining butter sauce over the fish, garnish with parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Pat the cod fillets dry before cooking so they sear nicely in the butter.
- Cook over medium heat to prevent the butter from burning.
- Fresh lemon juice added at the end keeps the flavor bright and balanced.
- Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
