Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the puff pastry on the prepared sheet and score a 1-inch border around the edge.
  3. Stir the cherry pie filling to loosen slightly. Spread it within the scored border.
  4. Sprinkle sliced almonds evenly over the top.
  5. Whisk the egg with a splash of water and brush it along the pastry edges.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the tart or it may not puff evenly.
