Description

Juicy spiced chicken kofta served warm with a cool and creamy garlic yogurt sauce, a comforting and flavorful dish perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup plain full fat yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine ground chicken, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into small log-shaped kofta.
  4. Add kofta to the hot pan and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix yogurt with lemon juice and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  6. Serve the warm kofta with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side or drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the chicken to keep the kofta tender.
  • Let cooked kofta rest a few minutes before serving.
