Description

A bright and flavorful chicken piccata made with tender pan-seared chicken in a silky lemon butter sauce with capers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken cutlets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 fresh lemons, juiced and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons capers
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Mix flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl.
  3. Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  4. Place chicken in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add butter and garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  6. Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and capers, then let simmer.
  7. Return chicken to the pan and coat with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices, then serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking the chicken.
  • Adjust lemon and capers to taste.
