Description

Crispy baked wonton cups filled with savory beef chili and topped with melted cheddar cheese. These bite sized appetizers are warm, comforting, and perfect for parties, game nights, or an easy snack everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chili beans
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion and garlic until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  3. Stir in chili beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  4. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup to form small edible cups.
  5. Spoon the chili mixture evenly into each wrapper.
  6. Bake for about 12 minutes until the wrappers become golden and crisp.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each cup and return to the oven for about 3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crisp wrappers, lightly bake the empty wonton cups for 3 minutes before adding the filling.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly and gives better texture.
  • If the chili mixture looks thin, simmer it longer to thicken before filling the cups.
  • Let the cups cool for a minute before removing them from the muffin tin so they hold their shape.
