Description

Soft, chewy, and bursting with festive red and green M&Ms and melty chocolate chips, these Christmas M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies are the ultimate holiday treat perfect for cookie swaps, parties, or leaving out for Santa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups red and green M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and M&Ms.
  7. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are still soft.
  9. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Press extra M&Ms on top of dough balls before baking for a bakery-style look.
  • Chill the dough for 15–20 minutes if it’s too soft to handle.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container with a slice of bread to keep them soft longer.
  • Freeze cookie dough balls for up to 2 months to bake fresh anytime.
