- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups red and green M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and M&Ms.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are still soft.
- Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Press extra M&Ms on top of dough balls before baking for a bakery-style look.
- Chill the dough for 15–20 minutes if it’s too soft to handle.
- Store cookies in an airtight container with a slice of bread to keep them soft longer.
- Freeze cookie dough balls for up to 2 months to bake fresh anytime.
