- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for dough)
- 1/4 cup baking soda (for boiling)
- 6 cups water (for boiling)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix and knead until smooth (about 7–10 minutes).

- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large pot, bring 6 cups water and baking soda to a boil, then reduce to simmer.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6-inch stick.
- Carefully boil each stick in the baking soda water for 30 seconds, then remove and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Immediately brush hot pretzel sticks with melted butter.
- In a shallow dish, mix cinnamon and sugar. Roll warm pretzel sticks in the mixture until coated.
Notes
- Serve with cream cheese dip, vanilla icing, or chocolate sauce.
- Best enjoyed fresh and warm.
- You can freeze the unbaked pretzel sticks and boil/bake later as needed.
- Adjust cinnamon-to-sugar ratio to your taste.
