Description

The Crab Rangoon Surf and Turf Burger is a gourmet fusion burger that combines the indulgent flavors of land and sea. It features a juicy beef patty topped with creamy crab Rangoon filling, crispy wontons, and sweet chili sauce for an Asian-inspired twist on a classic surf and turf.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 oz lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 8 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 4 lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Sliced tomato and red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix crab meat, cream cheese, green onion, soy sauce, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and sesame oil until smooth. Chill the mixture for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Shape ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
  3. While burgers cook, cut wonton wrappers into triangles and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Lightly toast burger buns.
  5. Spread 1–2 tablespoons of the crab Rangoon mixture on the top bun or directly onto the cooked patty during the last minute of cooking to warm it slightly.
  6. Assemble each burger with lettuce, tomato, beef patty, a spoonful of crab Rangoon filling, crispy wonton chips, and a drizzle of sweet chili sauce.
  7. Top with the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can broil the crab Rangoon mixture on the burger for a hot, melty finish.
  • Use real lump crab for a premium taste, or imitation for a budget-friendly option.
  • Serve with sweet potato fries or an Asian slaw for a full meal.
