Description
Golden, flaky puff pastry cups filled with melted brie and sweet-tart cranberry sauce, finished with a hint of fresh rosemary for a festive, crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package puff pastry sheets (about 2 sheets, thawed)
- 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup whole cranberry sauce
- 1–2 sprigs fresh rosemary, finely chopped (about 1 teaspoon)
- Nonstick spray or butter, for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin with nonstick spray or butter.
- Combine Ingredients: Cube the brie into small pieces, measure out 1 cup cranberry sauce, and finely chop the rosemary.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into approximately 2-inch squares. Gently press each square into the prepared mini muffin tin, forming little cups.
- Assemble the Dish: Place one cube of brie into the center of each pastry cup, top with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce, and sprinkle with a pinch of chopped rosemary.
- Cook to Perfection: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed and the brie is melted.
- Finishing Touches: Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before gently transferring to a serving platter. Optionally brush with a light egg wash before baking for extra shine or sprinkle a tiny pinch of coarse sea salt after baking to brighten flavors.
- Serve and Enjoy: Arrange on a platter with rosemary sprigs for garnish and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Chill the puff pastry briefly if it becomes too warm while working to help it puff up in the oven.
- Avoid overfilling the pastry cups to prevent the filling from bubbling over during baking.
- These can be assembled up to 6 hours ahead and refrigerated; bake just before serving for best texture.
- Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes to restore crispness.
