Description

A creamy and indulgent Cajun-inspired pasta dish featuring succulent crawfish tails in a rich, flavorful sauce, served over fettuccine for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb crawfish tails, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add crawfish tails to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Mix in the cooked fettuccine pasta and toss to coat. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and lemon juice as needed.
  7. Serve the crawfish fettuccine in bowls, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add extra Cajun seasoning or red pepper flakes to taste.
  • This dish can be made with shrimp instead of crawfish if preferred.
  • Serve with crusty bread or a simple salad for a complete meal.
