Description

Crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside pork ribs made fast in the air fryer with a sweet, smoky rub and a glossy barbecue glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork ribs, membrane removed and cut into 3 to 4 bone sections
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (use gluten free if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss ribs with olive oil, then coat evenly in the spice mix.
  3. Lightly oil the air fryer basket or line with a perforated liner.
  4. Arrange ribs in a single layer with space between pieces.
  5. Air fry for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Brush ribs with barbecue sauce and cook 5 to 10 minutes more until caramelized and crispy.
  7. Rest 5 minutes, then serve hot with extra sauce.

Notes

  • Remove the silver skin on the back of the ribs for tenderness.
  • Do not overcrowd the basket, cook in batches if needed for best crispiness.
  • Brush sauce during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
  • For gluten free, use a certified gluten free barbecue sauce.
  • For extra crisp edges, add 3 minutes after glazing.
