- 14 oz extra-firm tofu, cubed
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes, then cut into cubes.
- Toss the tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat and fry the tofu in a single layer, flipping to crisp all sides.
- In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the crispy tofu to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Pressing the tofu is key to getting a crispy texture.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying the tofu.
