Description
A comforting slow cooked pasta dish where tender chicken, penne pasta, and a rich parmesan cream sauce come together for a cozy and satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 grams boneless skinless chicken pieces
- 300 grams dry penne pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the slow cooker by setting it to low heat.
- In a bowl, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Grease the slow cooker lightly with butter and olive oil.
- Add the chicken pieces to the slow cooker and pour the cream mixture over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Shred the chicken directly inside the slow cooker using two forks.
- Stir in the dry penne pasta and grated parmesan cheese.
- Continue cooking for about 20 to 30 minutes until the pasta becomes tender and the sauce thickens.
- Stir gently to combine everything evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving and enjoy warm.
Notes
- Freshly grated parmesan melts better and creates a smoother sauce.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add a small splash of chicken broth to loosen it.
- You can cook the pasta separately and stir it in at the end for a firmer texture.
- Leftovers reheat well with a little extra broth or cream added.
