Description

Tender chicken slowly cooked in a rich honey garlic sauce and tossed with soft egg noodles. This comforting crockpot meal delivers the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Turn the slow cooker to low heat so it is ready for the ingredients.
  2. In a mixing bowl whisk together honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, and sesame oil until smooth.
  3. Lightly coat the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray or a thin layer of oil.
  4. Place the chicken thighs into the slow cooker and pour the honey garlic sauce mixture over them.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until the chicken becomes tender and fully cooked.
  6. Cook the egg noodles in a separate pot according to package directions.
  7. Lightly shred the chicken in the slow cooker using forks.
  8. Add the cooked noodles into the sauce and gently toss until everything is coated.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.

Notes

  • Add the noodles only at the end to prevent them from becoming too soft.
  • Taste the sauce before serving and adjust with a splash of soy sauce if needed.
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes can add a little heat if desired.
  • Leftovers store well and often taste even better the next day.
