- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casing removed
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Butter or oil for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a deep 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add diced onion and bell pepper to the meat and sauté until softened. Stir in pepperoni and remove from heat.
- In the prepared dish, spread half of the shredded mozzarella cheese across the bottom.
- Layer the cooked meat and vegetable mixture over the cheese.
- Top with pizza sauce and remaining cheese.
- In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and Italian seasoning to make a batter.
- Pour the batter evenly over the filling in the baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and set.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
