Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (about 100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4–6 dill pickle slices (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp dried dill or a few fresh dill sprigs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place two slices, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese, evenly distributed.
- Add dill pickle slices over the cheese layer. Sprinkle garlic powder and dill if using.
- Cover with remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Grill for 3–4 minutes per side or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use bread that’s slightly thick for a crispy outside and soft interior.
- Try different cheeses like provolone or Swiss for variation.
- Pat pickle slices dry with a paper towel to prevent sogginess.
