Description

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar, these Disney Churro Bites bring the magic of the theme parks right into your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat oil in a heavy pot or Dutch oven to 350°F. Prepare a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Add flour and stir until a dough forms. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then beat in the egg until smooth.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Keep the hot oil steady at 350°F, with a tray lined with paper towels or a rack nearby for draining.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Transfer dough to the piping bag. Pipe 1–2 inch strips directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Fry in small batches until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes. Turn as needed for even cooking.
  6. Finishing Touches: Toss hot churro bites immediately in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat fully.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Pile onto a platter and serve warm with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use a star-shaped piping tip for authentic ridges.
  • Fry in small batches to avoid crowding.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to restore crispiness.
  • Add a splash of vanilla extract to the dough for extra flavor.
