- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop tablespoon-sized amounts of batter into the hot oil, a few at a time, being careful not to overcrowd.
- Fry until golden brown, about 1–2 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a small cookie scoop for evenly sized bites.
- Serve with dipping sauces like chocolate, caramel, or strawberry for extra fun.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be reheated in an oven or air fryer.
