Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set but still soft.
- Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake and let them set as they cool.
- You can mix in nuts, white chocolate, or caramel chips for added texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
