Description
A crispy, cheesy twist on a classic burrito packed with seasoned beef, rice, sauces, and a golden cheese crust that tastes just like the fast-food favorite — but even better at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef with taco seasoning until fully browned. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix cooked rice with nacho cheese sauce and chipotle sauce. Add the cooked beef and stir to combine.
- Wipe out the skillet and return to medium heat. Add a small amount of butter to coat the bottom.
- Lay out a tortilla, spread with sour cream, then spoon the beef and rice mixture in the center. Top with a small handful of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Roll into a burrito, folding in the sides tightly.
- In the skillet, sprinkle a small handful of shredded cheese directly onto the pan, then press the burrito seam-side down onto the cheese.
- Cook until the cheese on the outside is golden and crisp, then flip to warm the other side.
- Remove from skillet, let rest for 1 minute, then serve hot.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melt and crust.
- Don’t overfill the burrito or it may tear during grilling.
- Let the filling cool slightly before wrapping to avoid soggy tortillas.
- Make the beef and rice mix ahead to save time.
