Healthy Hashbrown Chaffle is a low-carb, crispy, and savory waffle made from grated potatoes and cheese, perfect for a quick breakfast or snack. This easy-to-make chaffle offers a satisfying crunch with fewer carbs than traditional hashbrowns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup grated raw potatoes (squeeze out excess moisture)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for waffle maker

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle maker and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, egg, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Scoop the mixture onto the waffle maker, spreading evenly.
  4. Cook for 4–6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Carefully remove and serve warm with your favorite toppings like sour cream, avocado, or salsa.

Notes

  • Be sure to squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the grated potatoes to get crispy chaffles.
  • Use a non-stick waffle maker for easy removal.
  • These can be reheated in a toaster or oven for a crispy texture.
