These homemade Twix bars feature a buttery shortbread base, rich caramel center, and smooth chocolate topping. A delicious candy bar treat made from scratch in your own kitchen.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened for base)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for caramel)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix softened butter, flour, sugar, and vanilla until crumbly. Press evenly into the pan to form a shortbread base.
- Bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden, then let cool.
- In a saucepan, combine condensed milk, butter, corn syrup, and salt over medium heat. Stir constantly for 10–15 minutes until golden and thickened.
- Pour caramel over the cooled shortbread and spread evenly. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour or until firm.
- Melt the chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over the set caramel and spread to coat evenly.
- Let chocolate set at room temp or chill again. Slice into bars with a warm knife.
- Serve and enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
