Description

Juicy chicken glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, served with fluffy white rice and steamed broccoli for a comforting and quick dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds), sliced in half lengthwise
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, steamed
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic. In another small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
  3. Once the skillet is hot, add chicken and sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and mostly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Pour the soy-honey-garlic mixture into the pan, stirring gently. Once it starts to bubble, stir in the cornstarch slurry.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, flipping once, until sauce thickens and glazes the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley. Let rest for a minute or two before serving.
  7. Serve over warm rice with steamed broccoli. Spoon extra sauce over the top for more flavor.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt levels.
  • Let the sauce simmer after adding the slurry for ideal thickness.
  • Prepare all ingredients in advance for smoother cooking.
