Description

Juicy beef burgers loaded with cheddar cheese, green chilies, jalapeños, and a sweet-spicy drizzle of hot honey. These bold and flavorful burgers are perfect for quick dinners or weekend cookouts.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1 small can diced green chilies
  • 1 small white onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 burger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, green chilies, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 6 patties.
  3. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on one side. Flip, add a slice of cheddar on each, and cover to melt the cheese. Cook another 3 minutes.
  4. Toast the buns cut-side down on the skillet until golden.
  5. Assemble burgers by spreading hot honey on the bottom bun, adding the cheesy patty, jalapeños, onion slices, and another drizzle of hot honey.
  6. Top with the bun and serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the beef to keep the patties tender.
  • Adjust the spice by using fewer jalapeños or swapping for mild peppers.
  • Toast the buns for extra texture and to avoid sogginess.
