Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup (110 g) strawberry jam
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Press a small indentation into the center of each ball.
- Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon strawberry jam.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 20 minutes if it feels too soft before shaping.
- Do not overfill with jam to prevent spilling during baking.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
