Description

This Lazy Lasagna Casserole is a quick and comforting twist on traditional lasagna, made with just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep. Perfect for busy weeknights!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 (12 oz) package uncooked egg noodles or rotini pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the pasta sauce, water, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, and ricotta (or cottage) cheese.
  6. Pour mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and golden.
  8. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare it ahead and refrigerate before baking — just add 10 more minutes to the baking time.
  • Try adding spinach or zucchini for a veggie boost.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to make it gluten-free.
