This Lazy Lasagna Casserole is a quick and comforting twist on traditional lasagna, made with just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep. Perfect for busy weeknights!

- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (12 oz) package uncooked egg noodles or rotini pasta
- 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the pasta sauce, water, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, and ricotta (or cottage) cheese.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and golden.
- Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can prepare it ahead and refrigerate before baking — just add 10 more minutes to the baking time.
- Try adding spinach or zucchini for a veggie boost.
- Use gluten-free pasta to make it gluten-free.
