Description

This flavorful London Broil Marinade tenderizes and infuses the meat with a rich blend of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet notes, perfect for grilling, broiling, or pan-searing your steak to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1.52 pounds London Broil (top round steak)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and brown sugar until well combined.
  2. Add minced garlic, oregano, black pepper, onion powder, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Place the London Broil in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  5. Remove the meat from the marinade and let it come to room temperature before cooking.
  6. Grill, broil, or pan-sear the meat to desired doneness, typically 5–7 minutes per side depending on thickness.
  7. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

Notes

  • Marinate the steak overnight for optimal tenderness and flavor.
  • This marinade also works well with flank steak or skirt steak.
  • Use leftover marinade (boiled for safety) as a basting sauce or glaze.
