Description
Creamy, cheesy, and cozy, Marry Me Stuffed Shells are baked pasta shells filled with a rich ricotta blend and smothered in a velvety tomato cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights, date nights, or family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 to 24 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 3 cups tomato sauce
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix ricotta, 1 ½ cups mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until creamy and well-blended.
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil. Add tomato sauce and heavy cream, stirring until warmed and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Spread a layer of sauce in the bottom of the baking dish. Fill each pasta shell with the cheese mixture and place them in the dish, open side up.
- Pour the remaining sauce over the shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and broil for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped basil and serve.
Notes
- Use a piping bag or zip-top bag to stuff the shells easily.
- Make the sauce ahead to save time and deepen flavor.
- Let the dish rest before serving so the sauce thickens.
- Undercook shells slightly to keep them firm while baking.
