Description

A comforting and hearty meatloaf casserole with layers of seasoned beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese — the ultimate family dinner everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • pounds ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×9 casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes with milk and butter until smooth.
  5. Layer the meat mixture evenly in the prepared dish. Spread mashed potatoes over the top.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese as the final layer.
  7. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
