Description
This homemade Mexican Pizza is a crispy, cheesy, flavor-packed take on the Taco Bell favorite, layered with seasoned beef, refried beans, and all your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 cup refried beans
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Sour cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease, stir in taco seasoning with ¼ cup water, and simmer for 3–5 minutes. Warm refried beans in a saucepan over low heat.
- In a frying pan, heat a bit of vegetable oil. Fry tortillas one at a time until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Place 4 tortillas on the baking sheet. Spread refried beans, then seasoned beef. Top with another tortilla.
- Spread shredded cheese over the top layer. Sprinkle diced tomatoes and green onions.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before slicing. Add sour cream if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt and flavor.
- Don’t overload the tortillas with toppings to avoid sogginess.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster oven for a crispy finish.
