- 16 ounces dry spaghetti pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until just shy of al dente. Drain well.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Season with half of the salt and black pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and remaining salt until smooth and creamy.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Toss drained spaghetti with sliced butter until coated. Layer half of the spaghetti in the dish.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the spaghetti layer.
- Top with the remaining spaghetti, then pour the meat sauce evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Slightly undercook the pasta so it finishes perfectly in the oven.
- Allow the dish to rest before slicing to help the layers set.
- You can assemble the dish up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate before baking.
