Description

A creamy, cheesy Southern classic baked in a bread bowl, Mississippi Sin Dip is the ultimate party appetizer that’s rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large round loaf of bread (French or sourdough)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Slice the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about 1 inch of bread around the sides. Reserve the scooped bread pieces.
  4. Spoon the creamy mixture into the hollowed bread bowl.
  5. Place the filled bread on a baking sheet, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the dip is golden and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with reserved bread pieces, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melt.
  • Bake the bread shell for 5–10 minutes before filling to prevent sogginess.
  • Mix the filling a day ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
