Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large round loaf of bread (French or sourdough)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Slice the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about 1 inch of bread around the sides. Reserve the scooped bread pieces.
- Spoon the creamy mixture into the hollowed bread bowl.
- Place the filled bread on a baking sheet, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the dip is golden and bubbly.
- Serve warm with reserved bread pieces, crackers, or veggies.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melt.
- Bake the bread shell for 5–10 minutes before filling to prevent sogginess.
- Mix the filling a day ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
