- 500g frozen or fresh French fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 250g ground beef
- 2 tablespoons nduja sausage (soft, spicy spreadable salami)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeños or chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft, about 4 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned, breaking apart, about 6–8 minutes.
- Stir in nduja, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes until combined.
- Preheat oven broiler.
- Spread fries on a baking tray, top with beef mixture and cheese.
- Broil 2–3 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
- Remove, top with sour cream, green onions, jalapeños if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Drizzle garlic mayo or spicy ketchup for extra flavor.
- Adjust nduja amount for spice level.
- Best served immediately for crispiness.
