- 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and finely chopped
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups Nutella
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chopped hazelnuts for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch tart pan.
- In a food processor, pulse toasted hazelnuts until finely ground. Add flour, brown sugar, and salt. Pulse to combine.
- Add cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture firmly into the tart pan, covering the base and sides evenly.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let the crust cool completely.
- In a bowl, mix Nutella, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour filling into cooled crust and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts and a pinch of sea salt if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use a serrated knife dipped in hot water for clean slices.
- Chill overnight for best texture and flavor.
- Can be made ahead and stored up to 4 days in the fridge.
