Description

A quick and easy one-pot meal combining juicy cheeseburger flavors with tender orzo pasta, all cooked together in a savory skillet for a comforting dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped pickles and ketchup for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon; cook until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Add orzo pasta, beef broth, and diced tomatoes to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for about 10 minutes or until orzo is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
  6. Stir in milk and shredded cheddar cheese until cheese is melted and mixture is creamy.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit for 2 minutes before serving.
  8. Top with chopped pickles and ketchup if desired.
