Description

A playful twist on the Latin American classic, this Oreo Tres Leches features an airy sponge soaked in three sweet milks, crowned with billowy whipped cream and a blizzard of crunchy Oreo crumbs. It’s creamy, chocolatey, and irresistibly nostalgic.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  • Granulated Sugar: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 5 large
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking Powder: 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Whole Milk: 1/3 cup
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: 1 can (14 oz)
  • Evaporated Milk: 1 can (12 oz)
  • Heavy Cream (for soaking): 1 cup
  • Heavy Whipping Cream (for topping): 2 cups
  • Powdered Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Oreos, crushed: 12 cookies, plus extra for garnish if desired

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk the flour and baking powder together. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Mix in the vanilla and whole milk, then gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely in the pan.
  5. In a pitcher, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream. Poke the cooled cake all over with a fork, then slowly pour the milk mixture evenly over the surface, letting it soak in.
  6. Whip the heavy whipping cream with the powdered sugar to soft peaks. Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake.
  7. Top with crushed Oreos. Chill at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Slice and serve cold.

Notes

  • Chill overnight for the most luxurious texture and flavor.
  • Use room-temperature eggs for maximum sponge volume.
  • Add crushed Oreos just before serving if you prefer extra crunch.
  • For clean slices, warm the knife in hot water and wipe between cuts.
