Description

Soft and fluffy pink velvet cinnamon rolls swirled with brown sugar and cinnamon, topped with a rich cream cheese glaze that melts into every layer. Perfect for brunch, holidays, or whenever you want a cozy homemade treat with a fun twist.

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (for dough)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon red or pink food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, food coloring, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add flour and cocoa powder, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface.
  8. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  9. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls. Arrange in prepared baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
  11. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  12. Spread glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure milk is warm, not hot, to properly activate the yeast.
  • Do not overbake to keep the centers soft and fluffy.
  • For make ahead, assemble rolls and refrigerate overnight before baking.
