Description

These puff pastry apple pies are golden, flaky, and filled with warm, cinnamon-spiced apples. Perfectly portable and incredibly cozy, they’re the ideal treat for any season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour until well coated.
  3. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.
  4. Spoon apple mixture onto the center of each square, leaving a border. Fold the pastry over into triangles or rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Place the pies on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold for maximum flakiness.
  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Freeze unbaked pies for a make-ahead option.
  • Reheat in a toaster oven for a fresh-baked feel.
