Description

Rice Krispie Cheddar Crackers are savory, crispy snacks made with sharp cheddar cheese and crunchy rice cereal. These retro-style bites are perfect for parties, cheese boards, or an addictive afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  3. Add salt and cayenne pepper, then mix in the flour gradually until fully incorporated.
  4. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly distributed.
  5. Shape dough into small 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool on wire racks before serving or storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use extra-sharp cheddar for a more intense flavor.
  • Add finely chopped chives or rosemary for a herby twist.
  • These can be frozen before baking—just thaw slightly and bake as instructed.
